Bystrom Pitches Gem against Washington Tuesday, September 8th, 1992
The Detroit Tigers rolled to an easy 5-0 win over the Washington Senators at RFK Stadium today. Leading the way to victory was starter Marty Bystrom, who shackled the Washington Senators and held them scoreless on a 5-hitter.
"This is what every pitcher wants to do when they go out there," Bystrom said in his postgame press conference.
Up to now Bystrom has compiled an ERA of 3.53 with a 17-8 mark over 29 starts. He has 108 strikeouts in 221.2 innings and has held opponents to a .245 batting average.
