Hit #2000 for Cardinals Kennedy Sunday, September 13th, 1992 Cardinals catcher Terry Kennedy never thought his name would be associated with some of the great players in league history. Now that he has reached the 2000-hit threshold, that's all but guaranteed. Kennedy collected his big hit in a 6-3 loss to Boston. Afterward, he thought about the achievement: "Overwhelmed," he said. "That's how I feel about it right now." Kennedy went 3-for-4 for the game. Kennedy has a lifetime .279 average with 2000 hits, 413 doubles, 13 triples, 208 home runs and 1033 RBIs to date.
