Johnson Hurls No-Hitter
Johnson Hurls No-Hitter
Friday, October 2nd, 1992
Seattle is abuzz in the wake of a masterful no-hitter by Randy Johnson.

The 29-year-old hurler was dominating against the Detroit Tigers, leading the Pilots to a 5-0 win at Tiger Stadium today.

"I could tell early on that it was going to be a long day for us," Detroit manager Julio Izquierdo said afterward. "He made us look real bad. He was that good. And still going strong at the end of the game."

Johnson had 10 strikeouts and gave up 3 walks en route to the no-hitter.

"Yeah, this was a special day for me," Johnson said. "I had my good stuff and good movement. Good location, too. Even when I made a mistake, I got away with it today."

For the season Johnson has compiled a 18-11 record with a 3.04 ERA.
