Zero Hour: Swindell Blanks Stars
Thursday, July 18th, 1991
Greg Swindell of the Salt Lake City Gulls spun his magic on the Las Vegas Stars today. He blanked them 10-0 on 4 hits, registering 3 strikeouts and 2 walks.
"The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Swindell said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down."
Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, Salt Lake City skipper Salt Lake z-Manager said the team "got solid pitching, good defense and took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations."
"Greg pitched really well but this was a solid performance by everyone," he said.
This season Swindell has compiled a 7-5 mark, 3.70 ERA and made 15 starts.
