League Suspends Braggs and Smith for Brawl
Thursday, August 15th, 1991
If there wasn't a history between Glenn Braggs of El Paso and Dave Smith of Denver, then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 3 and 6 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today.
"We're both really competitive," Braggs said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it."
Braggs is hitting at a .311 mark this season. His stats show 17 home runs, 81 RBIs and 75 runs scored. He has played 107 games for the Diablos.
Smith has 3 saves in 34 relief appearances this season with a 3-5 record and 4.64 ERA.
