AA Player of the Week Selected
Monday, August 26th, 1991
Jeffrey Leonard had a week for the ages as he romped to the American Association Player of the Week Award. The happy-go-lucky 35-year-old still plays ball like a kid, mashing and slashing as he goes.
The Durham Bulls first baseman hit .522 last week as he chalked up 12 hits in 23 at-bats, 4 home runs, 10 RBIs and 12 runs scored.
This year Leonard has socked 65 hits in 210 at-bats for a .310 average with 13 home runs. He is getting on base at a .368 pace and his totals also include 37 RBIs and 41 runs scored.
