Barberie 5-for-6 for Waves Wednesday, January 23rd, 1991 No matter what the Manoa Surfers threw at him today, Bret Barberie hit it. He easily handled Surfers pitching, going 5 for 6 and helping the Waves to a 5-4 triumph at Memorial Stadium. "The way I was swinging today, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball," he told BNN reporters in the postgame interview. Told of Barberie's quip, Surfers skipper said he "would take him up on that next time." Bret Barberie singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
