Hot Bat Cooled, Knoblauch Hitless Against Seals
Tuesday, February 12th, 1991
Chuck Knoblauch saw his 0-game hitting streak wither and die today during the Manoa Surfers win over Makiki at Memorial Stadium. The 22-year-old second baseman was held hitless in 4 at-bats by the Makiki Seals, but his teammates produced enough offense to take the game, 4-3.
"Am I disappointed about the hit streak? Maybe, just a little bit," a seemingly upbeat Knoblauch told reporters in the clubhouse. "But really, how could you be unhappy after you hit in 0 straight games? I'm just glad it lasted as long as it did. Life is good."
This year Knoblauch is hitting at a .321 pace with 1 home run and 14 RBIs. He has played in 25 games and scored 24 times.
